Thera Mclean

Thera Mae Peaks McLean, was born May 20, 1941 in Durham, North Carolina to the late Mr Vallie Henderson Yancey and Mable Dot (Peaks) Dixon. She departed this life on Thursday January 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her late husband Wisdom McLean, Jr., her daughter, Melissa Ann McLean, and oldest sister Theldora Peaks Covington. Thera attended Durham County Schools. Thera worked for Burlington Mills but spent most of her life working at Duke University Hospital as a Patient Transporter until her retirement.

She spent most of her time outside of work raising her grandchildren and loving on her family. She leaves to cherish her memories her children: James Junior McLean, Rosa Marie McLean, Karen Vanessa Joyner (Grover Joyner), all of Durham, NC; two brothers Curtis Ramseur(Priscilla), Calvin Ramseur (Wendy); four sisters, Evelyn McClure (Jerry), Geraline Elliot, Priscilla Mitchell (Terrell), Barbara Baker; one great aunt Vergie Mangum. grandchildren, Aunrico McLean, Tamecia McLean, DeMario McLean, Reginald McLean, Latavia McLean, Danielle McLean, and Joemel Street, a very special Best friend Diane Cox, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and many other loved ones and friends all of Durham, NC.
