Terry was born in upstate Auburn, NY. where he graduated from high school with state college scholarships. That proved inadequate so he left with his father to Poughkeepise, NY. Terry had FCC. Amateur Extra and all top level commercial FCC operator licenses since high school. That led to jobs on and off the air in several local broadcast stations as sometimes both chief engineer and talk show host.
He was a member of Union Baptist church in Durham, NC. where he recommitted to Christ and was Baptized again at age 80. Active in Sunday School which he loved. He really adored his Pastor, Prince Rivers & UBC Disciple. he entered Dutchess Community College remaining for three years in the RPI designed engineering curriculum eventually graduating from Albany State University with a degree in physics. He was drafted into the US Army first as a Military Policeman, then an MP Sentry Dog handler where he earned a purple heart in the highlands of Vietnam and finally as a crypto clerk and radio at MP Battalion HQ.
On a trip to visit friends in Raleigh after college, purely for fun, he visited Aerotron, a public safety radio manufacturer. They offered position as an engineer. From there he went to Harris RF, a similar business in Rochester, NY. and back to Aerotron, then to Motorola and finally to General Electric in consumer electronics engnineer.
God then led him to Robin rogers, a mutual friend, and two of them married January 20, 2023. The marriage helped them both greatly. Robin a solid born again Christian stood toe to toe with him.
