Sherricca Fennell

Ms. Sherricca Safonne Privette Fennell was born to Caroline Holloway Privette and the late Richard Privette, Jr. on February 22, 1958 in Durham, NC.  She departed this life peacefully on January 24, 2021 after a brief illness.

Sherricca attended Northern High School and received a BA Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.

Sherricca was employed for several years at Central Carolina Bank as a Unit Supervisor and left this career to OWN and OPERATE NEW BEGINNINGS DAYCARE CENTER for over 20 years — enjoying caring for so many infants and toddlers in the surrounding communities.  Her daycare duties extended far beyond the scope of her daily caretaking responsibilities.  She often provided extended evening care, food, clothing , and even housing for young families in need ad gratis.  

Sherricca was married to Mac Curtis Fennell and together they shared two children:  Shaunda Nicole Fennell (Lois) Raleigh; Ivan Curtis Fennell (fiancee Nikki) Durham.  She was an amazing NANA to her 5 grandchildren:  Anaiya, Kiya, Jaeden, Courtland, and Keivon Fennell.  SIBLINGS:  Elder Ricardo Privette (Tanella) Durham; Natalie Privette-Jones (Danny) Raleigh; Joycelyn Privette (Wake Forest); Cher-Rhonda Williams (Sheldon) Durham; and a very special cousin Kendrick Williams.

She also leaves to cherish her loving memory nieces and nephews Devon Jefferson (Cedric) of Mechanicsville, Va; Chelsea and Courtney Privette (Durham); Caroline Ogah and Kayla Jones (Raleigh); Samuel Ogah (Raleigh); Richard Privette (Wake Forest)

Beloved Grandmother Annie Bridges; Great Aunt Juanita Taylor; Great Uncle James Peace; AUNTS:  Lenovia Blue (Baltimore, MD); Anita Bridges (Robert) Edmond, OK; Shelia Bond (Kenny); UNCLES:  Pastor Edward Holloway (Frances) Zebulon; Thomas Holloway (Raleigh); Douglas Holloway; Carl Privette (Jackie); George Privette (Barbara); Kenneth Bell; Willie L. Jones, Sr. and a host of loving relatives and friends.
