Phillip Jones, Sr

Phillip Ray Jones, Sr. “AKA Phil Rock” born September 2, 1962 to James Sterling Jones, Sr. and Lucille Meadows Jones. He departed this life on January 25, 2021.

Phillip attended Mangum, Little River, Carrington, Chewning and graduated from Northern High School June 1982. Track and Field was his Gold sports of choice, at Northern High School still today there are medals and certificates that are still “year to date” unbroken.

Also at Northern High School, he learned the art of Brick Laying under the tutelage of Mr. David Smith, and later on he was trained as an Dump Truck driver until he became ill and had to retire from driving.

Phillip loved family outings and frying fish with his “baby Sis”, Felecia Renee Jones.

Phillip was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Ray Jones, Jr., mother and father, Lucille and James S. Jones, Sr., brothers, James S. Jones, Jr. (JS), Clifton E. Jones, Harold L. Jones (Evelyn), sister, Veronica Hinton.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his daughter, Vonisha K. Jones, Grandsons, KJ Kanon Jones and Phillip Ray Jones, III, brothers, Mr. Leon Anthony Burch, Stanley A Jones, Jay Frazier (Alice), Otis Frazier (Regina), Joseph Mack (Darlene) and Chuck Brannon, sisters, Victoria E. Jones-Joyner (Curtis), Felecia R. Jones,  and Darlene Brannon. Phillip was blessed to have a host of nieces and nephews of which are too abundant to name. Each and every one of them know who they are!!!!!!
