Mary Elizabeth Green

Mary E. Green, born March 9, 1946 in Roxboro, NC to the late Zeb Day and Mary E Holeman Day Brothers. Mary departed this life May 29, 2020 at the residence Cramel. She attended public school in Person County. In 1963, she was married to William Green. This union was blessed with 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl.

In 1968, Mary moved to Philadelphia and then to New Jersey where she worked for VNA as a Home Health Aide and then she moved back to Durham, NC. 

She always loved to be around her family and talk about the old days. She loved to cook and decorate. Her favorite foods are, chicken, oxtails, pig feet, turnip greens, biscuits, rice and gravy and potato salad. This woman loved her chicken.

One daughter, Wendy Ann Green and three brothers, Leon Day, Stacy Day and Kerry Day preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her 2 sons, William Green and Johnny Green both of New Jersey, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 8 sisters, 5 brothers and 4 brothers-in-law. (Howard) Hill of Baltimore, MD, one great aunt, Ester Wood of Roxboro, NC.
