Mark Eugene McDowell

Mark Eugene McDowell, the seventh of eight children, was born on September 28, 1970 to the late Joseph McDowell, Sr. and Ernestine Leathers McDowell in Durham NC. He were a proud graduate of Hillside High School, located in Durham NC. Mark was a quiet, shy and humble young man, who excelled in intramural basketball, was ranked at the top of his brick laying class and was highly sought after, because of his impeccable workmanship.

One of his proudest moments, with the exception of his wedding day, was the honor of becoming a father to three daughters and the extra special blessing of adding Christopher to the family. Those left with the footprints of Mark's love upon their hearts and cherished memories of his legacy are: his wife, Dusty McDowell. Three daughters: Carlis Spencer, Freedom Snipes, Heaven Snipes and one son, Christopher Johnson all of Durham, NC. He is also survived by three sisters: Karen Reid (Larry) of Chapel Hill, NC. Cathy McDowell of Mebane, NC. Ernestine McDowell of Chapel Hill, NC. two brothers: Joseph McDowell, Jr. (Anesha) of Burlington NC. Ronald McDowell (Tamala) of Durham NC, NC. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephrews, cousins, and friends.
