Kordell Tayshaun Young

Kordell Tayshaun Christopher Young, 23, of Durham, died April 19, 2020. He was born on June 25, 1996 in Durham, North Carolina, the son of Yolonda McMillan & Michael Young.

He attended Durham Public Schools and was a 2015 graduate of Hillside High School.

Kordell was an active member of the Bull City United, as well as an active member for Fight for 15 1996.  Kordell loved basketball, and loved cooking even more. He had a passion for culinary arts, and kept his family both fed and entertained with his creativerecipes and experimental cooking. To know Kordell was to be touched by his warm energy, his bright smile, his wit, and his love for those who held him closely.

Kordell is survived by his parents Yolonda McMillan & Michael Young, his stepmom Ruth Young,grandparents Brenda McMillan (Morgan Sinclair) & Barbara Young. He is also survived by siblingsMicanthony McMillan, Sunshine McMillan, Marquez McMillan, Kahari, Micaela Gray, Torien, Darius, and Michael Young, Jr., as well as great aunts LindaMcMillan and Marylin, great uncle Larry, uncles Eric Young (Tanya Young), Antonio McMillan (JackieMcMillan), Bernard McMillan (Lacresha McMillan), aunts Donna Hawkins and Towanda McMillan. He had one niece, Yahhonnia Burch, and two nephews, Ryan Hampton and Shawn Dunbar.  His life is alsocelebrated by a host of cousins and friends.
