John (Sonny Boy) Matthew Jamison

John known as "Sonny Boy" and "Dip", attended Durham Public Schools. He left Durham at the age of 16 and went to live in Long Beach, California where he acquired his high school diploma. He earned a B.S. Degree from Long Beach State College.

John was very  educated, intelligent and spoke the Spanish language very fluently. He was a poet and an avid golfer. John was a very hard worker and held many jobs in California. John was a shipping manager in a company in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He also held jobs at Sears and Advance Auto here in Durham, North Carolina.
