Christa L. Rice

I am home in heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright. There is a perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last.

With heavy hearts and solemn emotions, Hanes Funeral Service announces the earthly departure of Ms. Christa L. Rice
Ms. Rice pulled the drapes on this journey called life on November 6, 2020.

Christa was preceded in death by Burnette Woods and Martha Elaine Wilcox (grandmothers), Charles Woods (uncle) and Joy Anne Davis (aunt). She leaves behind her husband, Elder Ron Rice, son Nehemiah Rice, daughters Jaquita Wilcox, Ja’Niya Rice and Satirah Rice (all of Durham, NC); Parents Harvey and Jerrie Wilcox of Raleigh, NC; two brothers Christopher (Gloria) Wilcox of Raleigh, NC and Jermaine (Khrystal) Wilcox of Raleigh, NC; sister Marquita Wilcox of  Raleigh, NC; uncles Leroy (Margaret) Holmes of Wake Forest, NC; Stephen (Philisa) Woods of Raleigh, NC; James (Cynthia) Wilcox of Raleigh, NC; aunt Vivian of Raleigh, and great uncle Ike (Doris) Cotton of Raleigh, NC; Parents-in-love Ronald (Dorothy) Rice, Sr., 3 sisters-in-love Dorothy (William) Amos, Sherry (Terrence) Bostic, and Faith Rice; 2 brothers-in-love Matthew (Angelica) Rice and Joshua Rice, all of Durham, NC.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, brothers and sisters in Christ, friends and associates. 

A Service of Celebration has been scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Mount Zion Christian Church, 3519 Fayetteville St, Durham, NC 27707, with the viewing from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, followed by the celebration service, at 1:00 PM respectively.
