Alfred Deberry

Alfred Ray DeBerry (64), affectionately known as “Man”, was born on August 14, 1956 in Durham, NC  to the late Pauline Bennett DeBerry (years later became Pauline Lewis) and Rembert DeBerry. He was a 1974 graduate of Hillside High School, attended Durham Technical Community College and formerly worked as a Meter Reader for the City of Durham.

Alfred had “the gift of the gab” and was never short for words on any conversation!  At times, he displayed the good vibe of a comedian and could keep you smiling/laughing; leaving you with something to think about.  In addition, Alfred was a true sports fanatic who enjoyed watching his favorite teams play on TV.  He had much love for the basketball team LA Lakers; being a die-hard fan for the pro basketball player LeBron James and the football team San Diego Chargers
